If have problem with xfire(down fps),read and make it.

Find file in xfire directory xfire_games.ini

replace this line above/below your Fear "InGameRenderer=D3D9"

InGameFlags=DISABLE_DIRECT_INPUT_HOOK|DISABLE_RELEASE

Earlier

InGameFlags=DISABLE_RELEASE|USE_PRESENT|ENABLE_MOUSE|USE_DINPUT_MOUSE

Finally tomorrow i'll have a new pc, because my old one is having problems all time, specialy the mouse, since i changed it i suck in Fear lol. I hope i improve a little with this one xD:

with this video card you will have 300 fps-500 in low !

i have sometime 500-750fps with 4890 1go, same card than urs but ati... some of us are PRO ATI, and other Nvidia...
Gtx 290 is the best card actually but with the high price too !!

260 is a good choice.

Yes, for the moment the 260 it's ok for me.
In a few months, when i need more graphic power, i'll do SLI of 260, and performance is similar to a 295, but it will increase the energy consume and the heat, lol.

u know with mine, cod4 250-350 fps ; Fear = 500-750 fps ; cod5 150-250 fps ;

It's enough for me...
I have bough x58 mobo so for i7 920 too, but with 4 slot PCIE 16x.... so i could put 4 x 4890 1go in crossfire/sli loooool
u should think it :lol:

Hey guys, i have now my new pc, and everything goes smooth (even Crysis lol), but not Fear Combat :S . This is weird, i start a game and it go well, 120 FPS at maximum with vsinc (without it about 250), but when passes about 1 minute it descends to 19-20 FPS. ¿What the hell? I installed 4 games and the only one with this problem is Fear Combat, it's not possile to be the graphic card. Crysis goes to 40-60 FPS with High settings at 1680x1050. But Fear do this problem even if i play at minimum resolution and graphics.

¿Any idea?

I had a similar problem. The whole problem with the mouse or keyboard, and Vista. Later I will make a screenshot, and do not include xfire while playing.
On the screenshot will show that you want to disable.
Go to System and see HUD-device. Problem in it device.

Have you started overclocking your machine too?
I started doing it (http://www.extremeoverclocking.com) and it help Smile
